In 2014, the Town of Southeast (Putnam County, New York) updated its comprehensive plan, which had last been updated in 2002.
The update to the Comprehensive Plan recommended that “the Town seek to retain and enhance existing commercial development within the Town by legalizing existing uses that are non-polluting in nature and simplifying paths to redevelopment and property improvement.”
In addition, the Comprehensive Plan stated that the “Town should maintain and expand design guidelines for commercial properties, while broadening the allowable use categories within the Town to allow uses not previously considered.”
Local Law No. 7 of 2015 seeks to implement these aspects of the 2014 Comprehensive Plan.
