The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has proposed amendments to Part 617 of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) on January 20, 2017.  The proposed amendments include, but are not limited to, the expansion of Type II actions, the modification of thresholds for Type I actions, making the scoping of EISs mandatory, refining the acceptance procedures of draft EISs, defining the lead agency authority regarding generic EISs, and the implementation of electronic filing. These changes will affect zoning/land use applications in New York, including Westchester County.
