North Castle Proposes New Public Hearing Notice Procedure

On February 25, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Town of North Castle, New York (Westchester County), is considering a local law amending its public hearing procedure.  The proposed law essentially changes the manner in which the notice to 250 foot abutters (e.g. for zoning applications) must be sent.  Currently the notice must be sent by certified mail whereas under the proposed law notices would be sent by first class mail.  Other notice requirements such as newspaper publication may apply to certain types of applications.  A copy of the proposed local law can be viewed on the Town’s website:
